We spent the first half of the day traveling from Quito to Banos. Very scenic views. We took lots of pictures from the bus windows. We did a lot of switchbacks on mountain highways. Unfortunately, for tonight at least, my internet connection is insufficient to allow me to upload photos. They will have to wait for a few days.
After lunch, we took a 40 minute ride in an open bus to get to the start of our 12 mile mountain bike ride in the mountains! We discovered the roads we were going to be on were paved with cobblestones - uneven ones! That made the ride challenging even when going downhill! The uphill slopes were long and sometimes quite steep! The views along the river valley were magnificent. Again, I hope to post photos tomorrow!
We're worn out tonight and ready for some rest before hiking and white water rafting tomorrow. We will update as soon as we can. Thanks for following!
