Dylan and are doing what all international travelers do the night before they travel - trying to get our bags under the weight limits! :-) A task that is much easier said than done with Air Avianca's 22 pound limit for carry ons!
We looking for to meeting Melaine and Dylan (Lopez) in Ecuador. Melanie is 10 years old, soon to be 11. She lives in the coastal community of Montecristo, a town of 20,000. She lives with both of her parents. She is in the 3rd grade and enjoys games, jump rope, and story-telling.
Dylan (Lopez) just turned 10 years old. He is also in the 3rd grade. He reports that he likes soccer, hide-and-seek, and cars. He lives with his mother in the community of Eldorado, population 2,000.
Provided we survive the white water rafting, mountain biking, and hiking in the rainforest, we will get to spend the day with Melanie and Dylan on Friday!
Tomorrow, though, it's a day of travel with 4 flights: Indy to Charlotte to Miami to Bogota, Columbia to Quito, Ecuador. We won't get to our hotel in Quito until nearly midnight. We will update the blog as soon as possible, but it might be early on Sunday before we can do so. So be patient with us!
